When cancer surgery is the best treatment option, we have a team of board-certified surgical oncologists in Fort Worth focused on finding, diagnosing and treating cancer through surgical intervention. Our state-of-the-art surgical techniques and equipment is focused on minimally invasive procedures. Typically, this type of treatment is combined with other options, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy and/or hormone therapy.

Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth has received the Commission on Cancer accreditation from the American College of Surgeons. The program sets quality of care standards for cancer programs and reviews programs to ensure they conform to their high standards.

Adolescent and young adult cancers

Each year, almost 90,000 young people between the ages of 15 and 39 are diagnosed with cancer. AYA oncology is defined by the National Cancer Institute as cancer care or research focused on those diagnosed with cancer between the ages of 15 to 39 years old. This age group faces unique challenges when it comes to cancer treatment. Learn more about one of only two inpatient units in the country that is designed specifically to provided AYA cancer treatment options, give psychosocial support and address issues in a young adult’s cancer journey.

Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center

The Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center provides hope for all who hear the words, “You have cancer.” All non-medical services are offered by the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center at no cost to patients and their families regardless of where they receive their direct medical care. From diagnosis to survivorship, patients may come to the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center for a variety of services.

Navigation

Our patient navigators are here to support, empower, educate and encourage you and your family throughout your treatment journey and survivorship. Patient navigators are the cornerstone of the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center. Navigators partner with patients and families during the course of diagnosis, treatment, and healing by becoming an advocate, guide, and facilitator. Because the treatment of cancer requires the interaction of multiple specialties, the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center provides a coordinated, integrated, and compassionate approach to each patient’s treatment.

Art therapy

Art therapy provides a safe place to communicate feelings and experiences of being a cancer survivor through the creative process.

Survivor Gals Cancer Boutique

Survivor Gals Cancer Boutique is a special boutique available to help you look and feel your best during your cancer treatment. Survivor Gals offers products and services that minimize the effects of cancer therapy.

A certified fitter is available to help meet your needs. Call to schedule an appointment for a one-on-one experience.

Community outreach

Through innovative programs and services ranging from health fairs to medical education and health screenings, our hospital aims to address and identify the health needs of the community. With collaborative community partnerships, the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center strives to improve health literacy and reduce the risk of cancer.
