Our mission is to train infectious disease physicians who impact patients and communities through clinical excellence, research and leadership

Our fellows graduate with the confidence to manage the breadth of infectious diseases including HIV/AIDS and transplant-related infectious diseases.Opportunities for clinical and translational research exist in many areas including infection prevention, HIV/PrEP implementation, and pharmaceutical trials.

The Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Baylor College of Medicine - Temple Infectious Disease Fellowship is a two-year program that is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Clinical rotations take place at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple and the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System.

We accept two fellows per year.

Curriculum

Overview


The diversity of our training sites, faculty expertise and favorable faculty-to-fellow ratio allows trainees to tailor their two-year training to meet future career goals.

In addition to our core curriculum and clinical rotations, we invite fellows to focus electives and research in one of the following areas:

  • Clinical educator
  • Transplant/immunocompromised infectious disease
  • Infection control/antibiotic stewardship
  • HIV medicine
  • Global health/tropical medicine
