Betsy Joann Furukawa, MD

Dr. Betsy Furukawa is a board-certified dermatologist with a particular interest in treating autoimmune blistering disorders, chronic eczematous dermatitis, psoriasis, skin cancer, dermoscopy, and surgically removing benign and malignant skin cancers. Dr. Furukawa also teaches dermatology to students and residents and is the Associate Residency Program Director of the Dermatology residency program at Baylor Scott & White in Temple. She does not perform cosmetic dermatology procedures.


Dr. Furukawa is a member of the Texas Dermatological Society, the Association of Professors of Dermatology, the American Contact Dermatitis Society and the American Academy of Dermatology. She is certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology.

When not working, Dr. Furukawa enjoys spending time with her husband (who is also a physician at Baylor Scott & White in Temple) and supporting their three children in their sports and activities.
