Cara Marie Govednik, MD

Dr. Govednik received her medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society in her third year. She completed her post-graduate surgical training at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine in Temple, TX, and then completed a fellowship in Endocrine Surgery, specializing in thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery. Dr. Govednik is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is also a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons. She is certified in breast ultrasound, thyroid ultrasound and the fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Govednik is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and practices general surgery with a focus on breast cancer, thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal surgery.
