Dr. Rhodes is now performing a new type of ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) surgery in North Texas. This new technique uses a medical device to promote natural healing. The implant is a bovine collagen sponge which allows new cells, collagen and blood vessels to replace the implant within 6-8 weeks, resulting in a healed ACL. Dr. Rhodes is the first to perform a double implant using this technique. The benefits of using this technique include preserving the native ACL, may reduce the risk of re-injury and eliminates the need for a graft from another part of the body.
