Biography
Dr. Dao is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas A&M College of Medicine at Texas A&M Health Science Center, Dallas. Dr. Dao completed her general surgery training and fellowship in breast surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. She is currently the Program Director for the surgical breast fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center. She graduated in the top quarter of her medical school class at Texas A&M University, College of Medicine. Dr. Dao uses her background in psychology and cell biology to address complex problems in breast cancer surgery. She enjoys spending time with her patients to help them understand their disease and using her expertise to guide them. Her philosophy is “treat the whole patient” with a personalized and integrative approach. Her goal is to listen and work to address each patient’s concerns. She collaborates with patients to develop treatment plans that optimize physical, mental, and emotional health. With more than 15 years of surgical experience, Dr. Dao’s technique specializes in using hidden scar and oncoplastic surgical procedures to restore the natural breast and minimize the cosmetic defect of the tumor removal. Dr. Dao participates in clinical trials and research to bring new advances to the field of breast oncology. She received the Ralph Tompsett Writing Award and John Halverson Young Investigator Award for her research. Dr. Dao grew up in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and briefly left Texas to attend college at UC Berkeley. (Go Bears!). She returned home to be close to her family. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, hiking, and spending beach vacations with her husband and two children.
